What to ask customers before quoting a detail
Most underpriced details come from missing information, not bad math. Ask these before you send a number.
What size is the vehicle?
Sedan, small SUV, 3-row SUV, truck, or van. Size changes the time on every service, so it should be the first thing you know.
Interior, exterior, or both?
Customers often say “full detail” and mean different things. Ask them to pick, and list any add-ons like headlight restoration or ceramic coating.
How dirty is it, honestly?
Ask directly about pet hair, sand, stains, and smoke or food smells. These can double interior time, and customers rarely mention them unless asked.
Can they send photos?
Ask for the seats, carpets, and one full side of the paint in daylight. Photos catch the things words miss, and they protect you if condition is disputed later.
Is there water and power where it is parked?
Apartment lots and some HOAs have neither. Knowing this ahead tells you what to load in the van, and whether the job works at all.
When was it last detailed?
A car detailed every few months is a maintenance job. A car that has never been done may need clay, polish, or extra interior time.
When do they want it done?
Get two or three dates up front. Then your quote can include a time, and the customer can say yes without another round of texts.
Your bookaservice.app page asks all of these for you, so every request arrives ready to quote.
